Hewlett Packard (HP) is to make its final round of redundancies in the UK.  HP is then planning to break apart the company.  However HP is looking for staff to volunteer for redundancy, rather than be "pushed". 
 
Nearly 58,000 people will have exited the company since HP began its three and a half year redundancy programme in 2012. 
 
Although HP is looking for voluntary redundancies, it has been alleged that the company will implement compulsory redundancies if not enough voluntary redundancies are forthcoming. 
 
A HP spokeswoman said "These proposed changes are part of a company-wide strategy announced in 2012 to give HP the needed workforce to be a more nimble customer and partner-centric company".
